Burn pictures to DVD, transfer pictures to hard drive, or burn pictures to slideshow DVD

Home Movie Depot provides several different types of usable media options for our photo scanning service, so you can select the media type that is best for you.

Free Data DVD

Included in the cost of our photo scanning service is burning your pictures to a Data DVD. This data DVD contains JPEG files that can be easily moved to your computer's hard drive or other storage devices, such as an Ipod or PSP. JPEGs are also compatible with nearly any imaging software or internet browser. JPEGs also work with popular picture organization programs like Picasa or online applications like Flickr.

JPEGs can also be converted to other formats, like GIF, TIFF, or BMP, depending on what you want to do with them.

Photo Scanning to DVD Slideshow

Although photo scanning to a Data DVD is very useful, it is only one type of media you can transfer pictures to with our photo scanning service. In addition to your Data DVD, we can also burn pictures to a DVD slideshow, which will play in commercial DVD players, so a large group can enjoy looking at memorable pictures without crowding around an album.

Photo Scanning to Hard Drive

Another option we provide for your scanned pictures is a hard drive. Many people prefer to use a hard drive for their editing projects or to transfer their digitized pictures to their computer instead of using a data DVD since it is usually faster and does not drain the computer's resources like a DVD/CD drive does.

A hard drive also gives you extra storage space for your photo scanning projects (like burning a custom slideshow to DVD, restoration, color adjustment, cropping, etc.), or you can move picture files and other files from your computer to the hard drive to free up space. This is especially advantageous if you use image editing software, which tends to create very large files during the editing process.

For future orders, we have our hard drive exchange program, which allows you to "trade-in" your hard drive, and we add a small charge for transferring to your hard drive. You can use the hard drive exchange for more photo scanning services, or any of our other services.
